School Age Program

Serves students from 6 to 21 years of age who have multiple disabilities, autism and/or traumatic brain injuries. This program emphasizes functional life skills, communication, social and pre-vocational skills. If a child’s public school assessment shows the need for special programs, the child is enrolled at Hills and Dales through the local school district. All students’ educational programs are individually designed and written by teams that include the students’ parents, teacher, school district representatives and representatives from Hills and Dales. All the students’ individual needs are discussed and goals are written to address academics, daily living, socialization, leisure, and prevocational skills.

Preschool Services

Serves children with disabilities through in Individual Education Plan that is written by the child’s parents, the local school district and the County Board, placing the child at Hills and Dales Preschool.

Our preschool program, for children 3 through 6 years of age, uses a developmental curriculum that helps to develop skills in pre-academics, socialization, play, communication and coordination. All classes serve children who are experiencing delays in development, as well as those who are not. Students are given exposure to pre-kindergarten skills, including introduction to numbers, letters, colors and shapes. This exposure gives our students a better chance for success in school when they reach school age.
